International Small Businesses Campaign • PayPal
When COVID flipped everything upside down, PayPal wanted to spotlight small businesses that somehow managed to pivot and survive. I led the production of a global campaign featuring scrappy, DIY videos from business owners in the US, Mexico, India, Japan, and South America.
I coordinated a team across multiple countries, ran weekly creative check-ins ( 10 countries, 7 languages and 6 timezones to consider), and gave the small business owners a crash course in “how to film yourself and record lots of b-roll.” Lighting tips, mic tricks, camera angles—you name it.
Then I pulled in our in-house PayPal editor to polish the rough cuts and a motion graphics artist to work with some licensed some stock art, and stitched everything together so it told a story.
The end result? A Global campaign at very little cost, on-time delivery and well-received by PayPal leadership. And no, no one filmed in 9:16. Victory.
